Who is responsible
This site belongs to BASED IN LISBON - MENTORING & CONSULTING SERVICES, LDA, NIPC 516780913, Portugal.
The site is built and maintained by Snip.work, which is also the controller for the visitor counting described below: Snip.work decides what is recorded and holds the data. Based In Lisbon sees only totals, with nothing in them that identifies a person.
For anything to do with data protection, this page, or what is described on it: hello@snip.work.
What this site records
Visitor counting, always on. The page address and the day you visited, the page you came from within this site, and roughly where you are: your country, region and town, an approximate position accurate to about 11 km, and the name of your internet provider. All of that is told to the site's host by your connection before the page begins to load. On top of it goes a one-way fingerprint of your IP address and browser, salted with the date, so the same person is counted once a day and cannot be recognised tomorrow or on any other site.
This runs without asking because it sets no cookie, stores no IP address, no postcode and no street-level position, and cannot identify you. The path you take between pages is remembered only inside the browser tab you are using and is forgotten when you close it. Fingerprints are deleted after three days; only per-day totals are kept.
That is the whole of what this site itself collects. There are no forms, no accounts and no shop, and the site sets no cookies and stores nothing in your browser.
Content loaded from other companies
Some pages embed material that your browser fetches directly from another company's servers. Whenever that happens, that company receives your IP address and whatever your browser sends with any request, and may set its own cookies. None of it is under this site's control, and each is governed by that company's own privacy policy.
- Portugal Ecosystem shows an interactive Google map, and a picture carousel that loads a script library from Google's and from Wix's servers.
- Services shows a Google Calendar booking panel. Anything you enter when booking goes to Google and to the calendar's owner.
- Events shows an events calendar from Luma (lu.ma), and loads a styling library from a Tailwind CDN.
How long the data is kept
- Daily fingerprints: three days.
- Per-day totals, such as visits, country, region, town and pages viewed: kept indefinitely, since they no longer concern anybody in particular.
Your rights
The General Data Protection Regulation gives you the right to see your personal data, to correct it, to ask for it to be deleted, and to object to it being used. You can exercise those rights through the contact above.
It is worth being straight about what that means here: the visitor counting holds nothing that can be tied back to you, so in practice there is no record to find, show you or delete. That absence is exactly what lets the counting run without asking your consent.
If you think your data is not being handled as it should be, you can complain to the Portuguese supervisory authority, the Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados (CNPD), www.cnpd.pt.
Changes to this page
If the visitor counting ever records more than is described here, this page is updated the same day. The date at the top is the last change.
